Originally from Ohio, Dr. Holmes moved to Massachusetts to attend Tufts Veterinary School, and now calls the Bay State home. Following graduation from Tufts in 2013, Dr. Holmes completed a rotating internship here at NEAMC. She then proceeded to work internationally in canine population management before returning to the Boston Metro area for work in general practice. Since 2017, she has also served as the President of the Tufts University Veterinary Alumni Association. Through TUVAA, Dr. Holmes has spearheaded a project called the International Alumni-Student Service Program, which provides opportunities for alumni to pair with students in service-based work at select locations, improving the surgical competency of students while gaining an understanding of new cultures and an appreciation for the medical resources they have at home. Her professional interests include preventive medicine and public education. Her hobbies include exploring the great outdoors via running, biking, kayaking, as well as implementing her artistic side via painting, photography and calligraphy.
